2-Ball Club Championship

Each standard couple is a two person team.  Each player plays their own ball until the ball is in the hole.  Count all strokes taken to hole the ball.  Per hole and total couple team gross score is the total of the two team individuals’ gross scores.

Record each player’s gross score for each hole.  Enter the total couple team gross score on the COUPLE SCORE line.  Extend couple gross and net scores and each player’s gross, net and ESC scores in the appropriate TOTAL columns.

Rules of Golf for stroke play and Local Rules are in effect.  Ties for overall team low gross and overall team low net will be broken by a “card-off” as follows:

First:  Holes 10-18 (using ½ of team handicap for low net).

Second:  Holes 13-18 (using 1/3 of team handicap for low net).

Third:  Holes 16-18 (using 1/6 of team handicap for low net).

Fourth:  Hole 18 (using 1/18 of team handicap for low net).

Handicap:  No dots on scorecard.

Pairings process as follows:

1.     Pair standard couples line by line and compute a COUPLE INDEX for each couple.

2.     Sort the list of couples by COUPLE INDEX (low to high)

3.     Pair lowest COUPLE INDEX with 2nd lowest COUPLE INDEX; 3rd lowest COUPLE INDEX with 4th lowest COUPLE INDEX, etc.

4.     Equally divide the field into flights of no more than sixteen couples for each flight.  Example: With a field of 64 couples, the lowest 16 COUPLE INDEXs on the list make up Flight 1, the second lowest 16 COUPLE INDEXs make up Flight 2, etc.
