OAKWOOD COUPLES GOLF LEAGUE

BY-LAWS

ARTICLE I NAME:

The name of this organization shall be Oakwood Couples Golf League.

 

ARTICLE II PURPOSE:

To conduct couples tournaments whenever possible and promote friendship among its members.

 

ARTICLE III Members and privileges:

Section 1.   Membership eligibility.

                        A.  All applicants must sign up as a couple team.

                        B.  Each couple team shall consist of a man and a woman.

                        C.  One member of each couple must be a resident (owner, renter, lessee) of Sun Lakes AZ.

                        D.     All applicants must have a current AGA or AWGA handicap index.

Section 2.  All members in good standing are eligible to vote, hold office, and participate in all O.C.G.L. sponsored events. (subject to Article VI)

 

ARTICLE IV Dues and Finances:

Section 1.  The Board of Directors shall determine annual dues.  The O.C.G.L. fiscal year is November 1st to October 31st.

Section 2.  Each event shall have a specified entry fee, which will be posted on the sign-up sheet.

Section 3.  No entry fee checks will be returned for cancellations or no shows made after noon on the Tuesday before the Friday event.

Section 4.  Prize for a hole-in-one will be $50.00 only when earned on a Friday Couples play day.   

 

ARTICLE V  BOARD OF DIRECTORS/OFFICERS/COMMITTEES

Section 1.  The officers shall consist of President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer and will be elected each year by a majority of the membership voting at the first play day dinner in November.

Section 2.  Each officer is limited to two consecutive terms in that specific office.

Section 3.  The President, as needed, will appoint committee chairpersons.

Section 4.  The Board of Directors shall consist of the officers and committee chairpersons.

Section 5.  The terms of office shall be from November 1st through October 31st.

 

ARTICLE VI FIELD

Section 1.  In the event that any tournament is over-subscribed, a lottery will be utilized to determine playing teams.  Checks for the current tournament will be used to determine lottery winners.

Section 2.  Any team not eligible (per the lottery) will be automatically eligible for the next tournament.

 

ARTICLE VII RULE CHANGES

Section 1.  Any and all rules governing O.C.G.L. can be changed by a vote of the membership.
